Snow shovelling

Hire a young person from your neighbourhood to clear your driveway and walkway. Each flyer shows a price up front, you choose the day and time, and your card payment is held until you approve the finished job.

Find someone to shovel near you

Flyer is a neighbourhood marketplace where teens aged 13 and up put up a flyer for what they are good at. Search Flyer for snow shovelling, compare prices and hours, and send a request for the morning you need. Nothing is confirmed until they accept.

It suits the jobs that are too small for a snow removal company: a driveway, the front steps, the path to the door, or a neighbour's walkway.

Plan around the storm

Snow jobs are all about timing. Send your request the evening before a forecast storm, and say in a message how much needs clearing: driveway only, driveway and steps, or the path to the door as well.

Every job has to finish by 9 pm, so an early morning or after-school slot works better than a late-night one.

What it costs

Every young person sets their own price. It is on their flyer, so you see it before you send a request. Flyer adds a service fee on top, shown on the booking screen before you send, and you can add a tip once you approve the job.

How booking works

  1. Find a flyer. Browse young people by job, price and availability, and read their reviews.
  2. Send a request. Pick a day and time. A card is needed, but nothing is taken until they accept.
  3. They accept or decline. Nothing is confirmed until they accept. Your card is charged then, and your street address is shared.
  4. Approve the finished job. They tap On my way and Start, then finish the job. You approve it and the money is released to them. Tipping is optional.

How Flyer keeps jobs safe

Flyer does not run criminal record checks, and it does not guarantee any job. Use the same judgement you would use hiring any neighbour’s kid. Read the safety rules in full.

Questions

How much does it cost to have a teenager shovel my driveway?

It depends on the young person: each one sets their own price, shown on their flyer before you send a request. Flyer adds a service fee on top, which you see on the booking screen before you send. A bigger driveway or heavy snow is worth mentioning in a message so the price is right.

Can I book snow shovelling for the same day?

You choose a day and time and the young person accepts or declines. For a same-day storm, send the request as early as you can and message them. Nothing is confirmed until they accept.

Do I need to be home while they shovel?

No. Your street address is only shared once they accept the booking, and you can agree in a message exactly which areas need clearing. They tap On my way and Start, then finish the job, usually with photos of the cleared area, so you can see when the job started and check the result before you approve it.

Are the young people background checked or insured?

No. Flyer does not run criminal record checks and we will not pretend otherwise. What Flyer does is keep a parent or guardian's contact on file for every earner under 18, limit working hours by age, and show real reviews. Use the same judgement you would hiring any neighbour's kid.
