A walk when you cannot do one

Flyer is where teens aged 13 and up put up a flyer for what they are good at, and dog walking is one of the things they can offer. Browse flyers, compare prices and availability, then send a request for the day and time you need.

They accept or decline. Nothing is confirmed until they accept, so you can send a request to a couple of people if you are unsure.

Tell them about your dog

Before you book, message them about the dog: how big, how strong on the lead, whether they pull, and whether there are dogs or people to avoid on the usual route. Agree where the lead and bags are kept and how long the walk should be.

The young person taps Start when they begin and Finish when they are back, so you can see when the walk happened before you approve it.

Regular walks

Once a young person and your dog get along, book them again. It is the same process each time, and their reviews from other neighbours are on their flyer.

How booking works

  1. Find a flyer. Browse young people by job, price and availability, and read their reviews.
  2. Send a request. Pick a day and time. A card is needed, but nothing is taken until they accept.
  3. They accept or decline. Nothing is confirmed until they accept. Your card is charged then, and your street address is shared.
  4. Approve the finished job. They tap On my way and Start, then finish the job. You approve it and the money is released to them. Tipping is optional.

How Flyer keeps jobs safe

Flyer does not run criminal record checks, and it does not guarantee any job. Use the same judgement you would use hiring any neighbour’s kid. Read the safety rules in full.

Questions

How much does a dog walker cost?

Each young person sets their own price, shown on their flyer before you send a request. Flyer adds a service fee on top, shown on the booking screen before you send. You can add a tip after the walk.

Do I need to be home for the walk?

You can agree that in a message. Your street address is only shared once they accept the booking.

Is a teenager old enough to walk my dog?

Flyer sets 13 as the minimum age to earn, and whether a particular young person suits your dog is your call. Read their flyer and reviews, and message them before you book.

Are the dog walkers insured?

No. Flyer does not offer insurance or run criminal record checks. It keeps a parent or guardian's contact on file for every earner under 18 and shows real reviews from earlier customers.
