Look before you book

Flyer is a marketplace where teens aged 13 and up put up a flyer for what they are good at. Babysitting is open to 14 and older, and a babysitting flyer shows the price, how much experience they have with it, photos where they have added them, and reviews from people who booked them.

You can message them before you book to ask about experience with your children's ages, and nothing is confirmed until they accept your request.

Extra rules for babysitting

A babysitter has to be at least 14. Anyone under 18 also needs their parent or guardian to confirm their email before a babysitting flyer can go up, and if the sitter is under 16 a copy of their messages goes to that parent or guardian.

Flyer caps every job at 9 pm, so a late evening out may need another arrangement. Overnight work is not allowed on Flyer at all.

Your address stays private until they accept

Until the young person accepts your request, they only see your neighbourhood. Your street address is shared once you are both committed to the booking.

How booking works

  1. Find a flyer. Browse young people by job, price and availability, and read their reviews.
  2. Send a request. Pick a day and time. A card is needed, but nothing is taken until they accept.
  3. They accept or decline. Nothing is confirmed until they accept. Your card is charged then, and your street address is shared.
  4. Approve the finished job. They tap On my way and Start, then finish the job. You approve it and the money is released to them. Tipping is optional.

How Flyer keeps jobs safe

Flyer does not run criminal record checks, and it does not guarantee any job. Use the same judgement you would use hiring any neighbour’s kid. Read the safety rules in full.

Questions

How old do you have to be to babysit on Flyer?

Babysitters on Flyer are 14 or older. A babysitter under 18 also needs a parent or guardian to confirm their email before the flyer can go up. Beyond that it is your call as the parent: read their flyer, check their reviews, message them before you book and meet them if you would like. Jobs have to finish by 9 pm.

How much should I pay a babysitter?

Each young person sets their own price, shown on their flyer before you send a request, so you see it up front. Compare a few flyers, ask in a message whether the price changes with the number of children or the hour, and add a tip after the job if you would like to. Flyer adds a service fee on top, shown before you send.

Are the babysitters background checked?

No. Flyer does not run criminal record checks and we will not pretend otherwise. It keeps a parent or guardian's contact on file for every earner under 18, copies messages with under-16s to their guardian, caps working hours by age and shows real reviews. Use the same judgement you would use with any neighbour's kid.

Can I book a babysitter for a full evening?

Only until 9 pm. Every job on Flyer has to finish by then, so a later finish is not possible.
